What Are The Qatar National Tourism Experience Awards?

National Tourism Experience Awards is a programme launched by the Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) in partnership with the World Tourism Council (UNWTO) to celebrate contributions to the excellence and uniqueness of the Qatar visitor experience.

The Awards programme sheds a spotlight on what it takes to curate a visitor’s experience at every touch point of their end-to-end journey. It is designed to encourage all actors who play a direct or indirect role in the delivery of experiences to Qatar’s visitors, to develop and emulate exceptional initiatives characterized by uniqueness, sustainability, accessibility and high-quality service.

What Are The Categories Of The Awards?

For its first edition, the National Tourism Experience Awards will have 3 categories: best cultural experiences, smart solutions, and inspiring experiences.

How Many Awards Will Be Given?

There will be up to six awardees (two per category) in the first edition of the National Tourism Experience Awards program.

Why Should I Apply?

Beyond its importance to Qatar’s economy, curating visitor experiences is one of the most effective ways to introduce visitors from every corner of the globe to our unique and intriguing country.

Everyone is part of this process. Whether you are a tourism organisation or not, whether you are located inside or outside Qatar, you contribute to the visitor experience.

Winners will receive a special trophy and recognition at the highest level of the government. All winners will be promoted in Qatar National Tourism Council’s regional and international marketing efforts and will receive official badging and logos to include in their own promotional materials. Award recipients will also receive support from QNTC and its partners to help further develop their tourism experiences.

Who Should Apply?

The first edition of the National Tourism Experience Awards program is designed to recognise organisational (rather than individual) excellence in contributions to visitor experience.  The awards are open to any business, public agency, nonprofit organisation, NGO or association that is directly or indirectly involved in showcasing or delivering experiences to Qatar’s visitors.

Organisations both within the tourism sector (airlines, hotels, tour operators, travel agencies, museums, attractions, etc.), as well as those who provide ancillary services (transportation, communications, retail, security, immigration, food & beverage etc.) to Qatar’s visitors across the entire end-to-end journey, are encouraged to apply.  Organisations that operate both inside and outside of Qatar are eligible.

Can Our Organisation Apply If It Is Not Based In Qatar?

Yes.  If your organisation has implemented any initiative that helps to enhance the end-to-end visitor journey to Qatar, directly or indirectly, you are encouraged to apply.
